About
The Story
I’m Greta, and G/ARCHIVE grew out of something that started almost eight years ago in Italy.
My interest in vintage and luxury pieces began while helping Geneviève, a longtime family friend from Paris who had spent years collecting beautiful things.
Early on, she handed me a book and told me that if I wanted to attend auctions, speak with dealers and source pieces for her, I first needed to learn what I was looking at.
So I did.
At first, she trusted me with smaller finds — handbags, jewelry and accessories. As I learned more about craftsmanship, materials, signatures, construction, condition and authentication, I began taking on more important pieces and developing an eye of my own.
I started collecting for myself, spending more time at auctions, estate sales and specialist sales throughout Italy, and eventually sourcing and selling a small selection of pieces independently.
When the pandemic prevented Geneviève from traveling to Italy, I began doing much of the work she would normally have done herself — attending sales, evaluating pieces and sourcing on her behalf. It was during those years that I learned one of the things that still shapes how I buy today: a famous name can be meaningful, but it isn’t what makes a piece special.
G/ARCHIVE is where I’m beginning again.
Today I primarily source vintage jewelry and watches, with handbags and other accessories appearing along the way. Some pieces are signed by well-known houses; others aren’t signed at all. I choose them for their craftsmanship, character, condition and the feeling that they’re simply worth finding.
My goal is to offer pieces I genuinely love, authenticate them carefully, and price them thoughtfully — so owning something distinctive doesn’t have to mean paying an extraordinary markup.
